This year I did not even feel like I was waiting on spring. Winter never came. In the Ohio Valley it was mostly mild. There were some days of rain and no measurable snow. I miss snow. While driving home from work last week I actually thought out-loud, “Winter will be here soon- What? No, it’s March, and we missed it!” These days the seasons seem to beguile me and the weather forecasters alike. Yet, spring is here just the same, and summer will be right around the corner. What is constant in our lives, if we can’t go by the seasons? Birthdays, holidays, summer break? These all seem to be pretty reliable milestones. Yet, we have a spiritual constant that is much more reliable than the seasons or even our own man-made days of recognition. Christ ‘s love for us and power in our lives is a constant we can count on.
If you are like me and are looking for something fresh and new this spring to update your home, kitchen or wardrobe, I invite you to look to Jesus Christ. Yes, this will be a challenge for me too. I am a lover of material things- especially those things with bunnies and chicks all over them! However, this season I need a little more. This season I want an internal spruce-up of my space. This one comes at no monetary cost and will stay new and fresh for all eternity. This is your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Do you have one? Does it need some tending to, like mine does? Invite Him into your heart again. I promise He will update your home, brighten up your kitchen and enhance your wardrobe, because in Christ you will become a new creation. This new you will transform your life and will transcend into all the corners of your world. Don’t believe me? Read what the Bible has to say about it below.
If you have never accepted Christ in your life before, you can do that too. Just say the following prayer: “Father, I am a sinner and my sin has separated me from you. I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins and was resurrected from the dead. I believe He is alive and hears my prayers and sits at your right hand. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Amen”.
2 Corinthians 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Ephesians 4:23 And to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
